Liverpool Biennial 2018

‘Dockside Rock and Roll’ (2018). Digitally printed wallpaper, 3237 x 456cm. Commissioned for Liverpool Biennial 2018, ‘Beautiful World Where Are You?’. Exhibited at the Wolfson Room, Tate Liverpool.

Working in collaboration with South Korean artist Haegue Yang I designed a wallpaper featuring local pagan and industrial references in response to Yang’s sculptures ‘The Intermediates’. Disorientating depictions of Thurstaston rocks and glimpses of local Morris dancers duel with details extracted from Liverpool’s rejuvenated docklands and iconic Queensway Tunnel ventilation tower, all twisting and shouting in a stand-off between the mythical and real worlds.
